Dr. Lowery was born, June 9, l934, was married
on September 29, l957, and began his ministry the same day. He
received the B.A. degree in Bible with minors in psychology and
sociology in l962 from Tennessee Temple University at Chattanooga,
Tennessee.
During twelve years of pastoral ministry he
saw churches more than double and triple in size under his leadership,
and for two years also taught Bible, psychology, and church leadership
at Memphis Baptist College.
After twelve years of pastoral ministry he
returned to school to further his education. At Trinity
college, Dunedin, Florida, he served as Dean of Men and
Bible instructor while working toward his graduate degrees. Having
received the Th.M. and Th.D. degrees from Trinity, Dr. Lowery
entered a full time Bible Conference ministry in May of l973,
under the sponsorship of the Missouri Avenue Baptist Church in
Clearwater, Florida.
During the past years of his conference ministry, he also taught
Bible Exposition and Theology in the summer graduate program
at Pensacola Christian College for eight years. The conference
ministry has taken him into the 48 adjacent states, 9 of the
l0 provinces of Canada, Jamaica and Mexico. He has also
built an Expositors Bible Center in Newton, Illinois, where he
has held seminars to teach others how to understand and give a literal
contextual exposition of a book of the Bible.
During the years of his ministry, he has written
articles for newspapers and Christian periodicals and is the
author of the book Building Steadfast Christians, and a booklet on "How I Defeated Prostate Cancer".
In l985, he was listed in Who's Who in the World of Religion.
